The Opportunity

As the Principal Talent Acquisition Specialist, Finance, you’ll have the chance to act as a strategic partner with senior finance leaders and BHR to develop recruiting strategies to hire top talent for the finance businesses by providing a best-in-class candidate experience and supporting the company's continued growth. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Talent Acquisition, Corporate.

What You’ll Work On

  • Lead and deliver enterprise‑level finance recruitment within Abbott’s talent acquisition model, technology, and hiring processes, while supporting strategic growth initiatives, new business expansions, and complex functional transformations across Finance (e.g., FP&A, Accounting, Controllership, Treasury, Audit, Tax, Corporate Finance).
  • Own senior‑level stakeholder relationships across Finance leadership (CFO organization, Finance VPs, Controllers, Finance Directors), serving as a trusted advisor on talent strategy, labor market conditions, hiring risks, and workforce planning.
  • Execute full‑cycle recruiting for highly specialized finance roles, from intake and role definition through offer negotiation and hire, including management of complex compensation structures (base, bonus, equity, long‑term incentives), using Abbott’s ATS and CRM platforms.
  • Design and execute sophisticated, multi‑pronged sourcing strategies to identify and engage passive finance talent, leveraging deep market knowledge, targeted research, competitive intelligence, and relationship‑driven outreach to attract top‑tier candidates.
  • Build and maintain strong finance talent pipelines across critical skill areas such as financial leadership, technical accounting, corporate finance, and transformation roles; proactively nurture high‑demand candidates through ongoing engagement.
  • Deliver high‑quality hiring outcomes by applying strong knowledge of finance labor markets, talent availability, compensation benchmarks, and corporate finance operations, while maintaining Abbott’s hiring standards and governance.
  • Translate evolving business and financial strategy into actionable talent acquisition plans, partnering with Finance leadership on workforce modeling, succession pipelines, early‑career strategy, and long‑term capability planning.
  • Leverage market insights, competitive intelligence, and workforce data to advise finance leaders and TA leadership on hiring trends, talent risks, and opportunities across local, regional, and global markets.
  • Act as a thought leader within Talent Acquisition, contributing to best practices, process improvements, and cross‑functional recruiting initiatives while mentoring recruiters and supporting overall TA capability development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 8+ years of recruiting experience and 3+ years of in-house recruiting experience.
  • Experience of supporting business hiring at or equivalent manager plus level across multiple functions, divisions, or business units.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape within healthcare.
  • Direct sourcing capabilities and experience in competency assessments such as certification in one of the main behavioral assessment methodologies.

  • 5+ years of supporting finance
  • Predictive Index Certified
  • Talent Mapping experience

The base pay for this position is

$99,300.00 – $198,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
